Prof. Constantine Balanis, Regents' Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, Arizona State University, USA, is going to give three lectures on the following topics:

     1. Microstrip Antennas
     2. Reflector Antennas
  
   3. Antenna Measurements

The lectures will be held in the Tele-education classroom of the Department  (floor 4, School of Science building) according to the following schedule:

On June 2, 2004, Constantine Balanis, Regents’ Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Arizona State University, was awarded with the Honoris Causa Doctorate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, for his outstandaing contribution to the education and research of electromagnetics. The "Honoris Causa" Doctorate is the most significant award of the University and has been bestwed in the past to several world-famous scientists and Nobel Laureates, including Paul Wolfrang, Georges Charpak and Ilya Prigogine. Prof. Balanis gave an interesting and conclusive speech on "Computational RF Electromagnetics in 1955-2004". (Photos)

Prof. Constantine Balanis (Arizona State Universiy, USA) is going to give two lectures on Electromagnetic Scattering (Strips, Plates, Cylinders, Spheres, Wedges using Modal Solutions and Physical Optics). The lectures will be held on Tuesday 1st and Thursday 3rd of June, both at 10:00-12:00 (Tele-education classroom, 4th floor, Applied Science Building).

On 6 and 10 of October 2003, the qualification exams for the academic year 2003-2004 were held.
The number of applications is 36.

A new research is carried out aiming to get a feedback from the alumni. Graduates from 1967 to 2003 have received a proper questionnaire in order to evaluate the program and give information about their professional status.
The results of the research are going to enrich the conclusions obtained from a previous effort in 1997.
